What is a Silk Top Wig?
The silk top lace front wig has French or Swiss lace around the perimeter and the top of crown contains a piece of silk (usually 4x4 or 5x5 in.) through which individual hairs are injected into fine nylon Monofilament mesh. Since the hairs are not secured by knots, the result is a more nature undetectable lace wig system. A layer of flesh-coloured pure silk material is added underneath in critical lace wig areas so that when it is parted it looks even more realistic than a full lace wig. Creating the appearance of a scalp with hair growing out of it, this is a great feature as the knots are hidden under the silk base and are not visible.


What is the difference between a silk top wig and a Full lace wig?
The main and only real difference between a silk top wig and a full lace wig or lace front wigs is that a silk top wig has a silk base in the front area of the wig about 4"x4" and the rest of the unit is made up of lace i.e. French lace or Swiss lace. Where as a full lace wig has lace all around and stretch, based on the type of lace cap construction. The hair type, texture and colour options would be the same as you will get on any other lace wig, lace front wig, full lace wig or custom lace front wig.
